MWB Group who own hotel chains Hotel du Vin and Malmaison is putting two iconic Scottish hotels on the market.

The Malmaison in Edinburgh and the St Andrews Golf Hotel are being sold as part of ongoing expansion plans.

Malmaison chief executive Robert Cook said: "Malmaison needs to offer its loyal fan base the latest in cutting edge design and hospitality to maintain its position as the UK’s leading design led boutique hotel group.

“We can achieve this by finding new opportunities and there is no better place than Edinburgh, the birthplace of Malmaison, where we are already looking at properties to create a larger hotel that meets the new design criteria."

The Malmaison Edinburgh, the first of the Malmaison brand to open in the UK, is expected to achieve a sale price of more than 15 million sterling.

The twenty two room St Andrew’s Golf Hotel is being sold with planning permission for a re-development project for offers in the region of six million sterling.
