WORD OF THE DAY: Pusillanimous

Hotelier Middle East Staff, February 1st, 2010

Pusillanimous: (adjective) lacking courage or resolution; cowardly.

In a sentence:

GM: Darling, I really don’t want to go to this meeting today. I have to tell the CEO that our revPAR is 30% and our occupancy has slumped to 28% and I’m scared.

Wife: Stop being so pusillanimous. Put on your suit and tell him that in these market conditions it’s not that bad, he'll understand.

GM: If only you knew darling, if only you knew.
