An investigation has been launched by Pakistani aviation officials after a plane from Abu Dhabi skidded off the runway during heavy rain, it has been reported.
None of the 113 passengers on board the Shaheen Air flight NL757 was injured in the incident, which happened at Peshawar International Airport, the National reports on Wednesday.
“It was coming from Abu Dhabi to Peshawar and basically it was due to bad weather,” said Farooq Khan, an airline spokesman, cited by the paper. “It was tremendously heavy rain and the aircraft skidded off the runway.”
The plane’s front tyres were damaged in the incident, but Khan said it could be returned to service this week, the paper reported.
