Restaurant operator launches multiple UAE outlets

Lucy Taylor, March 3rd, 2010

Restaurant operator Foodmark, part of the Landmark Group, has announced it will open its first ever own-brand restaurant, Wild Ginger, in March 2010.

The new concept promises “a unique blend of authentic Asian flavours in a modern and chic setting”, and will be located at Dubai shopping mall Deira City Centre.

Foodmark is championing a strong pipeline for the UAE, with second and third Carluccio’s café-stores opening at Mirdif City Centre in March and Dubai Marina Mall in April, while a second Mango Tree Bistro — part of the Mango Tree franchise from Bangkok — will also open at Mirdif City Centre in March.

Commenting on the raft of new openings, Foodmark operations manager Steven James said: “Carluccio’s and Mango Tree are already extremely popular, and the new venues will make it easier for people in a different part of Dubai to enjoy our cuisine.

“We are delighted to be launching Wild Ginger, which is a brand new concept for Foodmark, and a move away from our traditional franchise operation.

“As part of Iconic, it will offer great food at reasonable price, in a funky but chic setting, and we are positive that it will be a huge success.”

“Foodmark continues to go from strength to strength in the UAE, and we have exciting expansion plans both within the region and the GCC over the next year.”
