The Icelandic volcano, responsible for weeks of travel chaos is no longer active, according to reports.
A Civil Protection Agency official Iris Marelsdottir said that some steam was coming out of the volcano but no ash and that the lava flow has stopped completely.
"The activity of the crater has stopped. No magma is coming up," added geophysicist Magnus Gudmundsson of Iceland University.
Nearly 10 million passengers worldwide were grounded due to the threat of the engine damage from volcanic ash that had drifted across European airspace.
Experts said they would continue to monitor the volcano.
