Crescentrating was awarded The Halal Journal award for “Travel & Hospitality 2010” at the fifth World Halal Forum Gala Dinner, held in Kuala Lumpur on June 21, for its pioneering work in Halal Friendly Travel.
Crescentrating chief executive officer Fazal Bahardeen said: “We are indeed honoured and delighted to receive this prestigious award. Since the launch of our website and Hotel rating, we have had great feedback from the Industry as well as the travellers.”
Nominations for the prestigious award came from all over the world, including the UK, Australia, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

The company launched its Halal Friendly Rating for Travel and Tourism services & facilities in October 2009 along with its website crescentrating.com. Hotels from 14 countries have now joined the growing list of Crescentrated Hotels.
UK based company Global Futures and Foresight chief executive David Smith added that the Muslim travellers’ sector is likely to outperform most other sectors in the travel and tourism industry over the next ten years and that these, often new, travellers will require clear guidance to know which locations and carriers best meet their needs.
