Emirates property to promote Aussie tourism

Hotelier Middle East Staff, June 27th, 2010

Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa, an Emirates Hotels and Resorts property, has become a founding member of Luxury Lodges of Australia (LLOA); a new association comprising Australia’s leading independent luxury tourism properties.

The newly launched association aims to promote Australian luxury experiential lodges and resorts to the domestic and international markets.

“Such an initiative has been missing up to this point,” said Tony Williams, senior vice president for Emirates Hotels & Resorts. “Much of Australia’s marketing efforts are regional or state-based, and the LLOA will now fill the void by creating a definitive listing of the finest properties across the whole country; a complete guide to the greatest Australian experiences in a single portfolio. We are delighted with the support we have received from Tourism Australia, and the response from the trade”.

Joost Heymeijer, general manager, Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa said: “Wolgan Valley has been pioneering firsts since its inception eight months ago, and as a founding member of Luxury Lodges of Australia, we have certainly solidified our formidable presence as a luxury landmark destination in Australia.

“Being part of such an exclusive membership is further evidence of Emirates commitment to promoting Australia on the global stage and showcasing that this country can offer a consistently unparalleled luxury hotel experience for the discerning world traveller.”

The association’s website www.luxurylodgesofaustralia.com.au will provide travellers with comprehensive information and planning tools to develop complete Australian itineraries, linking  to each property’s own website and booking systems.

The 15 founding member properties of Luxury Lodges of Australia represent both long-established and new lodges and camps, with a common theme of offering guests an outstanding experience connected to a clear sense of place - while ensuring key luxury standards. Ranging from wilderness lodges to vineyard retreats and dining destinations; island hideaways to luxe outback camps; the properties demonstrate high levels of innovation and are clearly aiming to be world-class in all areas of operation.
