Emirates Wildlife Society launches fishy challenge

Emirates Wildlife Society is inviting UAE residents to take part in it’s ‘Choose Wisely: sustainable fish-dish challenge”, to raise awareness of declining stocks of some fish in the UAE.

The nationwide recipe competition, which is open to both amateurs and professionals, will see participants submitting recipes containing sustainable fish to www.choosewisely.ae, where they will be rated by visitors, with the highest rated recipes being featured in a UAE sustainable fish dish cookbook.

The Choose Wisely campaign was launched in April this year, when studies showed that the high demand for seafood in the UAE has led to the decline of 80% of the popular fish varieties over the last three decades.
