Pakistan hotel group Serena Hotels has launched a major fund-raising campaign to help the millions of victims displaced by the devastating flooding that has wiped out villages, destroyed crops and been labled the country's worst natural disaster.
The hotel group is donating 25 percent of its restaurant revenue and 50 percent of its Prestige Club Membership Fees to the relief effort, as well as collecting cash donations, food and clothing, and proceeds from plant and cake sales until the end of August. Serena Hotel employees from all over Pakistan have also pledged to contribute a part of their salary to the fund
A special Iftar was also arranged last week Serena Hotels across Pakistan and all proceeds donated towards the flood relief effort.
Serena corporate director of sales & marketing, Azam Jamil said: “We are a part of the Aga Khan Development Network so helping vulnerable communities is part of our ethos and culture”.
Serena is owned by The Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development - an international development agency dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship and building economically sound enterprises in the developing world.
