Man plummets down hotel ventilation shaft

Police had to rescue a 30-year-old man who fell into a hotel's ventilation shaft on Friday, according to a report in Gulf News.

A police officer who wished to remain anonymous told the newspaper the man “smelt strongly of alcohol”.

The Yemeni man reportedly kept shouting and refused to explain how he ended up at the bottom of the shaft that overlooked the bathrooms of the hotel in Al Rigga.

The Difficult Tasks force of Dubai police managed to rescue the man, who had sustained multiple injuries, through a small bathroom window.
