In The HR Office: Jumeirah's Naomi Mackay

Jumeirah always sounds pretty good to us, good reputation and nice properties as well. I have a question Ms Naomi, please be transparent and honest for the reply: 2 candidates, being 1 European & another African, with the equivalent background & education and both with impeccable presentation attitude and attributes but there is only 1 position to be filled at your property. To which candidate you will most probably hire. Since both are equivalent in terms of education, experience and attributes required.

Surely it is like having the choice between any two 'things' that are identical apart from aesthetic differences! If the two things are cars, then a test drive helps one decide. If it is a plane flight then the experience on the flight decides. Ms Naomi s clearly a professional who would call both persons in for interview and through that experience she would choose the person who she feels can achieve the most for her company. I do not see how beingvAfrican, European or any other nationality would affect her decision. She wants the best person for the job and her company trusts her to do this.
