The Burj Al Arab, Dubai’s sail-shaped hotel, has been named as one of the world’s top 10 honeymoon destinations by a hotel search engine.
The Dubai landmark, owned by the Jumeirah Group, ranked eighth on the hotelscombined.com list, placing above Niagara Fall’s Hilton hotel and Longtitude 131, which overlooks Ayers Rock in Australia.
The Burj Al Arab was praised for being “one of the most luxurious hotels in the world, offering reception desks on every floor, rain showers and Jacuzzis in every suite, a Rolls-Royce fleet, butlers on call around the clock and dining under the sea and stars”.

Other locations on the hotelscombined.com list included the first-placed Four Seasons George V Hotel in Paris, the Halekulani Hotel in Hawaii, the Conrad Maldives resort on Ari Atoll and the Mystique Hotel on the Greek island of Santorini.
Designed to resemble a sail, the 321m all-suite hotel was the tallest in the world until the Rose Rayhaan, also in Dubai, overtook it late in 2009.
Tourism is one of the key drivers of the Dubai economy, helped by the expansion of Emirates Airline. It plays a prominent part in the emirates 2015 strategic plan.
