Marriott Internationals’ Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral has employed Rubel Miah as its general manager.

 

Miah, who has 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, will be responsible for maintaining the performance levels of the four star hotel and enhance its experience for leisure travellers and business people.

Miah began his career in hospitality as a sales manager at the Novotel Peace Beijing, followed by a three-year spell with the Sofitel brand in China and has since held a number of high-profile hotel roles across Asia.

He was the director of sales and marketing at Sofitel Saigon in Vietnam for two years, where he was responsible for driving the hotel into the luxury market and was also part of the pre-opening team of the Sheraton Chongqing Hotel in China.

Following his stint with Sheraton Chongqing, he then became the director of sales and marketing at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok, Thailand. During his time in Thailand, he increased the hotel’s profits, which he was awarded for his efforts by later becoming manager of the hotel for three years.
