To raise awareness about pollution caused due to disposable plastic, Abu Dhabi’s Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort is hosting a swimming competition — Swim for clean seas.

The event will be hosted at Saadiyat Beach on March 29, 2019. A team from Azraq, a non-profit marine conservation organisation, will give people information about how they can help reduce the impact of plastic pollution in seas.

In addition to that, the property’s resident marine biologist, Emily Armstrong will host a special workshop for kids. Competition distances are 1 mile (1600 m), 1/2 mile (800 m), 1/4 mile (400 m) and the 200 metre dash.
