BA may have finally ended its vicous battle with members of Unite union with a new proposed deal that union members will hear today.

Unite will meet near Heathrow to decide whether the new proposal should go out to a ballot to put an end to the bitter dispute.

Although neither BA nor Unite would comment on the potential package, it is understood that progress has been made on the two main sticking points involving the removal of travel concessions for workers who went on strike last year, and disciplinary action against Unite members.

It is also believed the deal will tackle issues of time off for union reps as well as the ability of Unite to represent staff working on BA's so-called new fleet.

If the deal is accepted by Unite members it would end fears of travel chaos for BA passengers due to summer strike action.
