The Holiday Factory - a brand new tour operating company claiming to be the UAE’s “first real package tour operator” has launched today in Dubai.

The company said they planned to “revolutionise” the UAE’s travel industry by offering cheap package deals to popular holiday destinations in Asia, Europe, the Indian Ocean, and the Middle East – undercutting current market prices by “at least 40%”.

The company officially launched today unveiling its Summer 2011 brochure - and an introductory offer of just AED 1,290 (US $351) for a three-night package to Istanbul, including flights, transfers and accommodation in a three- star hotel.

All Holiday Factory packages include return flights, hotels, return airport transfers and the services of a local tour representative in one price, which is featured in the brochure.

Hakan Bakar, CEO, Holiday Factory said the Istanbul deal was around 50% cheaper than what could currently be found anywhere else in the market.

Baker said the Holiday Factory was targeting mid-income consumers in the GCC and he predicted an “explosion” in travel out of the region - similar to that experienced in Europe in the 60’s following the launch of the first package tour operators.

The company is in the process of negotiating deals with all 122 airlines the fly into and out of the UAE. It has so far contracted with 20 airlines including Flydubai, Air Arabia and Etihad and is currently negotiating with Emirates Airlines.

Baker said the company aims to be carrying at least one million passengers a year in the next five years and is targeting revenues of around US$ 817 million (AED 3 billion).

“We are aiming to be the biggest tour operator in the GCC,” said Baker.

The Holiday Factory has opened a sales office in Dubai Festival City, but packages will be sold through the travel trade and agents will have the opportunity to make 7% commission on packages sold.

Bakar said: “We’ll also be holding regular seminars for agents as well as hosting them on fam trips where they’ll experience firsthand the difference of holidaying with us. By developing a strong network across the UAE who will ne promoting and marketing our product we aim to take outbound tourism to a whole new level in the Emirates.”
