Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) concept Al Farooj Fresh has awarded franchise rights to UK-based Al-Amin Holdings for six new Al Farooj outlets in the UAE.

Three outlets are operational already; at Emirates Co-operative Society hypermarket in Twar, Dubai, at Wasit near Sharjah airport and at Emarat petrol station in Al Fisht on Sharjah conrniche.

A fourth is set to open in Swihat, Sharjah soon.

Chairman of Al Farooj chain of restaurants, Saleh Abdullah Lootah, commented: “We welcome Al -Amin Holdings to Al Farooj chain. We promise them to continue delivering the quality franchise support and profitable franchise system. The latest partnership is a testament of the restaurant’s high potential business model in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) sector.”

Al-Amin Holdings UAE director Mustafa Al Amin said the firm chose to partner with Al Farroj because of its “interesting blend of international standards and Arabic heritage”.

Al Amin added: “Because of our base in the UK, we foresee introducing Al Farooj brand to the British market after a careful feasibility where it can be marketed as a high quality and authentic Halal food option to the multi-ethnic consumers”.

Al Farooj Fresh, owned by Al Islami Foods group, has 31 branches in UAE and Lebanon and plans to open 10 more stores in and outside the UAE by the end of 2011.

A branch in Kuwait is expected to open during the third quarter of 2011.
