Nigeria’s largest international carrier, Arik Air, is to start a new direct flight to Abu Dhabi from Lagos.

The airline will begin operations to Abu Dhabi on Tuesday 29th November with three non-stop weekly flights from the city of   Lagos.

Flights depart Abu Dhabi every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:00 am, local time (LT), to arrive in Lagos at 12:15 pm, using an Airbus A340-500 with a capacity of 237 seats. The premium cabin is equipped with full flat bed seats and an advanced inflight entertainment system with 17 inch monitors.

The new service is the first flight to Lagos from Abu Dhabi International Airport, and will also offer passengers to Senegal, Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana.

James E. Bennett, chief executive officer at Abu Dhabi Airports Company, commented: “Abu Dhabi Airports Company is delighted to welcome Arik Air as the first West African carrier to operate to Abu Dhabi International. We look to more growth on the route between West Africa and Abu Dhabi travellers and business.”

Arik Air currently offers flights to 25 destinations in Nigeria, around Africa and across the rest of the world. From Lagos it serves 19 cities with 229 weekly departures and from Abuja it flies 133 weekly services to 15 airports.
