The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Dubai & Middle East Office said holidaymakers with plans to visit popular tourist destinations in Thailand should not cancel their plans due to flooding in the country.
TAT said most of Thailand's popular tourist regions including Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai in the north, Hua-Hin, Ko Chang and Pattaya and Kanchanaburi in the central region, and provinces in the south of Thailand such as Krabi, Phuket and Koh Samuihave not been affected by the floods. Flood waters in several provinces in northern Thailand have begun to subside said TAT.
The International Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok is open and operating normally, and international and domestic transit passengers are able to travel normally to their desired destinations.

The flooding in Thailand is mainly affecting the central provinces along the Chao Phraya River including Bangkok and Ayutthaya.
TAT added that most areas of central Bangkok where tourists from the Middle East normally visit, including the Nana (or "Arab Street") area, Silom, Rejaprasong and Siam Square are not flooded. TAT nevertheless advises that tourist check before visiting these sites.
