Hakkasan, the fine-dining Cantonese restaurant brand, will debut in Qatar with an outlet opening in the soon-to-be-launched St Regis Doha, Hotelier Middle East can reveal. 

"The Hakkasan in Doha is due to launch in June [2012]," Hakkasan CEO Niall Howard confirmed at the launch of the first Hakkasan in Dubai, at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, on November 17. (Click here to see photos of the new Hakkasan Dubai.)

The luxury hotel, home to Qatar's first Hakkasan, will open later than expected in January 2012 in Doha's up-and-coming West Bay, having initially been slated to open this year.

The hotel will feature 336 rooms and offer 50 butlers available at all times to handle guest affairs, a service which Tareq Derbas, St Regis general manager, said is unique to the region.

There are currently six Hakkasan restaurants globally, with another restaurant due to launch in New York in Spring, according to Howard.

The brand, which started in Lonodon in 2001, first entered the Middle East with the opening of an Abu Dhabi outlet in the Emirates Palace in June 2010. 

Hakkasan Abu Dhabi has since attracted celebrities including Uma Thurman, Morgan Freeman, and Clive Owen. (Click here to see photos of Hakkasan Abu Dhabi)
