Dubai-based restaurant Organic Foods & Cafe has emerged as the cheapest of eight popular midday eateries in the Gulf city, according to a new price comparison survey.*


The brand, which has outlets in Dubai Mall and The Greens, charged AED96 for a basket of food and drink items, some AED50 cheaper than its priciest rival, More.


The second cheapest venue was expat hotspot The Lime Tree Cafe, which recently opened its third branch in Media city, and charged AED97 for a two-person meal.

Also rated as good value was Basta Art Cafe in Bur Dubai, which charged AED106 for the lunch package and sold three items at a lower price than any of its counterparts.

 

The survey polled the cost of a basket of typical lunchtime items at eight popular restaurants, including the cheapest sandwich, salad and hot drinks on the menu.
