Michelin has announced a new guide for France that will be released in book shops on March 1, 2012.

One more restaurant was awarded a three-star accolade — Emmanuel Renaut's Flocons de Sel in Megève, a town in the French Alps — bringing France's total number of three star restaurants to 26.

Ten more restaurants were awarded a second star, making 83, and 58 gained their first, bringing the total to 485.

The new two stars in France include two in Paris: Sur Mesure par Thierry Marx, in the Mandarin Oriental hotel; and L’Abeille, in the Shangri-La, under chef Philippe Labbe.

Michelin also awarded 124 Bib Gourmands, raising the total of establishments recognised for offering good-quality cuisine at moderate prices to 630.
