Jumeirah, the luxury hospitality company, and part of Dubai Holdings, has won a series of medals at Le Salon Culinaire International de Londres 2012.

Team Jumeirah picked up three gold medals and two bronzes over six categories in the competition, held at the Hotelympia show. These were split between both a team from Dubai, as well as entrants from Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London.

The Dubai team also won several class-specific accolades, such as hygiene awards, best in class and best international team.

Before the show, one of the team leaders Christian Gradnitzer, Madinat Jumeirah’s resort executive chef told Hotelier that they had been working on entries for eight months.

In La Parade des Chefs, where 10 teams cook a three-course meal for 100 visitors, the Jumeirah Dubai team won a gold medal and received the only hygiene trophy. Individual gold medals were also awarded to Christian Gradnitzer, Sebastian Nohse, Tobias Pfister, Stefan Voithenleitner, Ryan Thompson and Maxie Millian from the Dubai team.

In the individual live cooking competitions, Ryan Thompson, sous chef at Madinat Jumeirah, won gold and best in the entire class for Chocolate Petits Fours. Wasim Ameer Shaikh, junior sous chef at Madinat Jumeirah won a gold, best in class and best kitchen larder chef of the week in Show Platter of Fish.

For the Churchill Pasta Dish Challenge Wawryniec Gizella from Jumeirah Carlton Tower won gold and best in class, and Liam Brandon, also of Jumeirah Carlton Towers won a bronze in Gourmet Classic Challenge.

The team from Jumeirah Dubai were announced at the best international team and won the only gold in the Salon Display. In the cold buffet challenge individual gold medals were awarded to Christian Gradnitzer, Sebastian Nohse, Tobias Pfister, Stefan Voithenleitner, Ryan Thompson and Maxie Millian from the Dubai Team.
