The operator of DIFC eatery Caramel Restaurant & Lounge has tied up with Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) to expand the brand in Abu Dhabi.
The second Caramel is scheduled to open at St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort’s retail and dining complex, called The Collection, in Q3 2012.
Owner and founder of UAE-based firm Caramel Group Mohammed Al Hashimi commented: “We are delighted to be bringing Caramel Restaurant & Lounge to The Collection is on offer at this retail complex complements the Caramel brand. Our restaurants are opulent and luxurious, providing clientele a warm inviting ambiance with exceptional customer service. The location of Saadiyat is therefore a perfect captive market for the clientele we intend to reach. We are thrilled to be opening later on this year”.

In a statement, Caramel Group said it would open more outlets after the Abu Dhabi launch.
It said the group was “already at advanced stages of an aggressive expansion strategy that will see the announcement of more venues regionally as well as internationally”.
Currently, Caramel Group operates its flagship Caramel Restaurant & Lounge in DIFC, Dubai.

Great news for a fantastic restaurant concept. I think Abu Dhabi will take a little time for success but once the Saadiyat resort completes and the residential is occupied it will be excellent. I know many people that travel from Abu Dhabi daily just for Caramel alone. Ali

Problem is the Sadiyat Island is a not so good... I was out there 2 weeks previous and the area is dead- the St. Regis is amazing hotel... but empty- the restaurant in DIFC does great because it is centrally located but the Caramel on Sadiyat can only serve to the few sold villas and condos as we...
