Homegrown Italian restaurant concept APi CAE Gourmet has opened in Abu Dhabi, offering dishes created with both locally and internationally sourced organic ingredients.
The restaurant will offer healthy homemade Italian breads, pastas and pizzas.
APi CAE Gourmet's co-founder and chief operating officer Gergana Konova said bringing her concept to life has been a labour of love: “My passion was to bring a genuine piece of Europe to Abu Dhabi. Italians do food so well, not just in terms of its taste but also in the sense of occasion and the entire dining experience.
“At APi CAE we will be committed to quality food, made from quality ingredients and that is something I feel the people of Abu Dhabi have been missing.”

The restaurant’s executive sous chef Mario Storti has worked extensively across Italy and will lead an entirely Italian team of kitchen staff.
He said the philosophy of the restaurant is to educate people about the true essence of Italian cuisine and to champion quality ingredients.
“We’re taking authentic Italian to a whole new level at APi CAE,” he said.
“Our Italian kitchen staff will bring not only a wealth of experience to Abu Dhabi but the true spirit and essence of Italian cuisine, which is about simplicity and quality.
“I am passionate about high-quality fresh food and the team here at APi CAE will be serving nothing other than mouth-watering homemade Italian dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
“I have no doubt that APi CAE will be the liveliest place in the capital to meet, socialise and enjoy good food.”
The name APi CAE derives from an ancient collection of Italian cooking manuscripts developed in the early 5th century, which is thought to be the origins of Italy’s famous cuisine,
The 5000 square foot restaurant located in the heart of down town Abu Dhabi will be open from 8am to 10pm Sunday to Saturday and has a capacity of 150 covers.
