Sealed Air’s Diversey business has launched the first ever range of cleaning solutions developed specifically for the Middle East environment.
The new TASKI six-machine range, each having different functions and capacities, has been designed following extensive research over the past two years, which took into account both existing and prospective customers.
At the launch event held today (April 23) in association with Hotelier Middle East, at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai, Jonathan Altenberg, vice president of portfolio and marketing operations, Asia Pacific, MEA and Turkey, said: “We decided that we needed to look at emerging markets, specifically in the Middle East and understand what is needed as the market here moves to mechanisation.”
He added: “We did both quantitative and qualitative research to get a deeper understanding of our customers and to understand how we should develop our technology and engineering to be geared towards this environment.”
The machines are developed specifically for densely populated cities with high traffic areas, as well as the extreme temperatures and high amounts of dust. The squeegees used have a 99% water pickup rate, and the water supply itself is dependent on the speed and usage of the machines, which can result in water savings of up to 50%.
Somer Gundogdu, vice president, Middle East and North East Africa, Sealed Air, said: “The hospitality industry in the Middle East is very predominant and so, by the same token, I would not be surprised if they were the majority customers for our new range of machines, as well as the chemicals and the tools that go with it.”
Gundogdu added: “We looked into all of the sectors we sell to and found all of the common requirements and customer needs in all those sectors to develop this new range of machines.”
The range includes the TASKI Ergodisc HD®, built with a resilient metal chassis and extra weight to handle challenging floor surfaces, as well as five different the TASKI Swingo models.
The TASKI Swingo 350 B is a battery-powered auto scrubber with a low profile, able to reach under obstacles such as tables, the Swingo 760 has a 40-litre tank, is available as battery-powered (760B) or cable-powered (760E). The Swingo 1260B is 60 litres, the Swingo 1660 is 85 litres and the Swingo 4000 is the largest ride-on model with a 200-litre tank, but can still travel at 7.5 km/h.
