UAE citizens were yesterday (June 12) advised against travelling to Lebanon and Syria over fears for their safety.

WAM reported that Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi said the travel advisory was issued out of the Ministry's concern for safety of UAE citizens.

He urged UAE citizens to exercise utmost caution and vigilance should they travel abroad, keep themselves updated about latest travel information at the Ministry's website and registerat Tawajedi service when they travel abroad.

Lebanon is a popular summer destination among GCC nationals; but travel agents have reportedly seen a wave of cancellations for the destination over the tense security situation.
