Jumeirah will open its annual turtle release to the public on June 29, held at Burj Al Arab and Madinat.
The event will see the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project release more than 100 rehabilitated hawksbill turtles and six sea turtles into the Arabian Gulf.
It will be hosted by Kris Fade of Virgin Radio, with children releasing the hawksbill turtles, while a Jumeirah property has each sponsored a sea turtle as part of a competition.
The sea turtles will be satellite tagged, and whichever travels the furthest by October 2012 will be announced as the winner.
The event kicks off at 8.30am and there will be refreshments and children’s entertainment on offer at the Mina A Salam.
