Gulf Air, Bahrain's national carrier, is to offer up to 30 percent off its fares to Iran and Iraq in the run-up to the resumption of flights to the two countries.
The promotion, which started on September 1, allows passengers to book their travel from any of the airline's 48 destinations to Baghdad, Erbil and Najaf in Iraq and Tehran, Mashhad and Shiraz in Iran and get a 25 percent discount on Economy class and 30 percent on Falcon Gold fares.
The special fares are available on bookings made between September 1-14, for travel between September 20 and October 15, Gulf Air said in a statement.

The airline halted flights to Iran and Iraq in March 2011, citing “operational reasons” but continued to fly to several predominantly Sunni countries in the region.
Karim Makhlouf, Gulf Air's chief commercial officer, said: "With three weeks to go until we resume our operations to Iran and Iraq, we are pleased to be able to offer customers this special promotion."
Flights to Baghdad, Erbil, Najaf and Basra in Iraq and Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz and Isfahan in Iran will begin from September 20.
Gulf Air on Monday said revenues for the first half of 2012 rose six percent compared to the same period last year.
The airline, which has suffered losses in the wake of political unrest in the Gulf kingdom, also said passenger numbers increased by 13 percent for January to June while seat load factors reached 77 percent, up five percent on H1 2011.
