US-based bathroom and kitchen faucet and accessories supplier Delta Faucet is targeting 10 new showrooms open in the Middle East by the end of 2012.

Ross Jackson, Delta Faucet’s general manager for the GCC and North Africa, said that it’s has been a “year of quick growth in the region” since it opened its first regional office in Dubai last year, and that the expansion is likely to continue.

The company has been trading in Saudi Arabia for around 35 years, as a result of US developments there, where they used “products they already knew”, but it is now eyeing rapid growth in other countries.

The company told Hotelier Middle East that it is looking to build upon its one current showroom with help from strategic distributor partnerships, including in Al Ain, Doha, Muscat, Jordan, Beirut and Saudi Arabia.

Jackson said: “It’s important to have showrooms in this region, as architects and designers like to see the products, and use them before they decide.”

He added that the reason the company was likely to succeed in the region was due to its innovations in water savings. In the UAE especially, he said that too much water is being used per person and Delta Faucet’s new products, such as the Touch2O helped reduced this.

However, he added: “It shouldn’t feel like you are saving water, though. You shouldn’t have to run around to try and wash your hair, and we know our products work, as we carry out lots of interviews with our end users.”
