The UAE is hosting its first ever 'East Coast Culinary Competition' on today (Sunday September 9) at Iberotel Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort.
The contest is being supported by the Emirates Culinary Guild and the World’s Association of Chef’s Societies. The results of the competition, attended by Hotelier Middle East, will be featured on HotelierMiddleEast.com.
There are 11 categories, including Pastry Showpiece, Chocolate Carving Showpiece and Individual Arabic Main Course, from which will then be used to judge Best Pastry Chef, Best Arabic Chef, Best Gastronomist, Best Artist and Best Bartender.
Following all categories, there will be one East Coast Champion awarded, based on the total number of scores.
“We would like to commend Iberotel Miramar Al Aqah for organising this groundbreaking event. This culinary competition is advantageous in promoting tourism in Fujairah as more people would be aware of the amazing gastronomic experience and splendid retreat that our emirate can offer,” said head of Fujairah Tourism and Antiquities Authority, Ahmed El Shamsy.
