29 Glenn De Souza, VP Int'l operations - Asia and the Middle East, Best Western International
Glenn De Souza brings more than 25 years of hotel experience to Best Western International where he oversees brand management and development in Southeast Asia, East Asia, South Asia and the Middle East.
Born in Singapore and of Portuguese descent, De Souza has helped oversee Best Western International increase its Asia and Middle East portfolio to 189 hotels in 27 countries by the end of 2011 fiscal year.
He has recently intensified his focus on the Middle East, with Best Western International set to open its first luxury properties in the region by the end of the year. The company, which already operates two midscale hotels in Saudi Arabia and one in Qatar, will launch Best Western Premier in Kuwait and Oman.

Both the 96-room Best Western Mahbola in Kuwait and the 212-room Best Western Premier Muscat in Oman are scheduled to open in Q4, 2012. These will be followed in 2013 and 2014 by two Best Western Premiers in Erbil Iraq — and De Souza is looking to expand the reach further. In total, he is responsible for117 hotels (16,232 rooms), while the hotels in his pipeline target across Asia and the Middle East for 2015 number 72 (12,838 rooms).
