26 Hamad Abdulla Al Mulla, chief executive officer, Katara Hospitality
Qatar’s leading owner-operator came to the fore in 2012 following its rebrand from Qatar National Hotels to Katara Hospitality, announced at Arabian Travel Market, and signalling a move to establish itself on the global hotels stage.
The group is famous for the prestigious hotels it owns overseas, such as Raffles Hotel Singapore, but CEO Hamad Abdulla Al Mulla enters this year’s Power 50 because of the domestic growth of its in-house brand, Merwebhotel. Katara Hospitality owns and operates Merwebhotel Al Sadd Doha and Merwebhotel Central Doha, with Merwebhotel City Centre Doha due to open in 2013. In addition, it also owns and manages the Sealine Beach Resort, one of Qatar’s favourite vacation spots.

I've worked directly under him during pre-opening stage. This is kind of leader hoteliers all over should emulate. Congratulations ya sire!

I am glad all the efforts came to those marvellous positive results on both fronts, business and human. This is a land mark team work in Saudi Arabia. Mr. Arkobi and his team did a marvellous job working at these hotels from day one. Congratulations for a deserved achievement.
