UK-based food packaging solutions company, Sirane, will be showcasing its range of products at Gulfood, Dubai.
The company said it had been implementing a Middle East expansion programme over the past 12 months, including the opening of manufacturing facilities in Turkey and offices in Dubai.
“The Middle East is a key growth area for Sirane, and now we have a dedicated office in Dubai and manufacturing capability in Turkey, we can really look for strong sales in the region," said sales director for food packaging Jeremy Haydn-Davies.

“We’ll be taking our full product range, from absorbent meat pads to innovative cooking bags, shelf-life extending bags to susceptors, to launch them into the Gulf markets.”
Meat pads on show will include Dri-Fresh Fresh-Hold a pad which led to a 9% drop in returns at one UK supermarket having solved the problem of containment odour in vac-packed meat.
Other pads will include absorbent pads for meat, seafood and fruit.
Another product on show will be Sira-Flex Resolve - a film which has been shown to add five days or more additional shelf-life to some fresh produce.
MD Simon Balderson said: “Shelf-life extension is the holy grail for the fruit and vegetable industry. A huge amount of food is wasted because it goes off before it is eaten.
“This is a big issue in the Middle East, where the extreme heat makes it harder to keep produce fresh. Using this film could reduce the amount of food waste and reduce costs. We can make it more likely that the consumer will get a quality product in great condition.”
Gulfood – held at the Dubai World Trade Centre - will see nearly 4,000 exhibitors and 100 international pavilions, in more than 100,000 square metres of exhibition space.
