InterContinental Dubai Festival City has added 410m² of event space to its Events Centre, which already comprises 3800m² of meeting rooms, pre-function space and ballrooms.
The new space consists of two additional ballrooms, which can be opened up into one larger space, three boardrooms, a business centre and a reception, break-out area and outdoor terrace.
InterContinental Hotels Group Dubai Festival City director of conferences and events Patria Puyat said: “This is a very exciting development for us. Our meetings business has really increased in the last year, so it made sense for us to look at expanding our existing space to enable us to offer more flexible options to our guests and meet the increasing demand.

"The waterfront setting is really unique, overlooking the historic and calm Dubai Creek, which is perfectly contrasted by the striking views of the modern Downtown Dubai vista”.
An additional 115m² of meetings space is also planned for neighbouring hotel, Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City, later in 2013.
