Dozens of flights from Saudi Arabia’s two main airports were delayed for several hours on Sunday following a computer glitch, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded, it was reported.
English language newspaper Arab News said that an outage in the IT network that runs Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport and Riyadh’s King Khaled International Airport’s immigration systems saw a number of international flights delayed.
“The departure of dozens of international flights from Riyadh and Jeddah international airports was delayed by several hours following the problem in the computer network of the immigration counters yesterday,” airport sources and airlines managers told the paper.
