Russo’s New York Pizzeria has debuted in the Middle East with the opening of an outlet in Dubai, at Jumeirah Centre, Jumeirahh Beach Road.
The US brand's first outlet outside of the US claims to be serving the largest pizza in Dubai, the XL 28-Inch Party Pizza.
“Right from the moment customers walk in they know they’ve come somewhere special. They’re getting a true ‘slice’ of New York,” said Nawwaf Ghobash, director of UAE-based Ghobash Trading & Investment, which operates the Russo’s New York Pizzeria in the UAE under Prime Hospitality.

“Everything is made from fresh ingredients. From the giant slices of pizza and the calzones to the pasta, these are traditional Italian dishes served just the way our guests would expect.”
Chef Anthony Russo, the founder of Russo’s New York Pizzeria, attended the opening and revealed plans to launch more outlets in the UAE, in Abu Dhabi this month and in Sharjah next month.
The expansion of Russo’s New York Pizzeria into the UAE signals the start of significant international franchise growth for the brand throughout the Middle East, according to the brand.
Further restaurants are also slated to open in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Doha, Qatar, Kuwait City, Kuwait and Manama, Bahrain.
“Opening in Dubai is a momentous occasion for Russo’s New York Pizzeria,” said Anthony Russo, a formally trained chef who opened his first Russo’s New York Pizzeria in 1992.
“There is nowhere else we’d rather bring our first restaurant outside of the United States than right here in the UAE where people demand the best. Russo’s New York Pizzeria delivers on its promise to serve the best New York pizza ever made.”
