3.16pm: Emirates Group has ended ATM with a bang! The Group has today announced its 25th consecutive year of profit and company-wide growth. Net profit stands at AED 3.1 billion (US$ 845 million), this year has seen the largest capacity increase in the airline’s history adding 34 new aircraft and 10 new destinations, and the group has now exceeded the 39 million passenger milestone.
2.23pm: Qatar Tourism Authority director of tourism Abdulla Albader has revealed that its upcoming summer campaign will revolve around attracting families to the country. As part of the country's expansion, with 19,000 hotel rooms currently under construction, Albader also said that 'from last month our hotel committee now meets every month to build on communication with the hospitality sector'. He also stressed that Doha's new airport will 'now be open in December this year'.

1:45pm: The Ilyas Mustafa Galadari Group has announced the launch of the IMG Worlds of Adventure. The theme park, with four separate themed zones - the Marvel Universe, the Cartoon Network zone, the Lost Valley zone, and the IMG entertainment zone - is targeting a soft launch at the end of 2013, with the park ready to be open to public in early 2014.
12:45: Saudi Arabia will relax visa rules to allow foreigners to visit certain Islamic and historical sites as tourists, the country’s most senior tourism official said.
11:32: Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) revealed a decree has been released formally legalising a new Hotel Classification Scheme for Dubai. The new system will improve clarity and increase the transparency about the type and quality of hotel rooms and accommodation available across the Emirate and the services provided within the establishments.

10:27am: Nothing like some statistics to start a Thursday. According to Google. travellers in the UAE and KSA are tech savvy. Apart from direct advice from friends and family, the internet is the number one source for trip planning for more than a third of leisure travellers surveyed (39% UAE, 38% KSA). This number rises for business travellers -- in the UAE it jumps to 50%, while in KSA it jumps to 48%.
