Belgian restaurateurs and beverage experts Lars and Ronny Haesen are set to open their first outlet in Dubai at The H Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road.

The brothers, sons of restaurateur Ivan Haesen who runs a portfolio of outlets in Belgium, will open a Belgian lounge called Bapas at the end of September.

Inspired by the Spanish tapas concept, Bapas aims to attract a social clientele with signature sharing dishes.

Co-founder Lars Haesen said: “Bapas is a play on Spanish Tapas, but Belgian! It’s the sharing concept. We are aiming to attract the after work crowd to our Belgian venue, and provide them great bapas dishes and drinks amongst good friends. We have a wonderful location and want it to be a home from home for our guests and friends”.

Bapas has been designed by LW Design and, as well as serving lunch and dinner, has partnered with Nespresso Dubai to offer in-house and take-out coffee.

The brand is part of the LAROYA Holding Group, established by Ivan, Lars and Ronny Haesen and Arab entrepreneur Yassar Abdul Wahid.
