When was your company established?
Dulsco was first established in 1935 and in 1996 waste management services was added to our portfolio.

Tell us about the growth of the company?
Dulsco has shown significant year on year growth with the waste management services business growing in terms of market share. Dulsco has also been voted for three consecutive years as one of the top 15 companies to work for in the UAE by the ‘Great Places to Work’ institute and we now currently employ around 6000 members of staff.
What is your company vision?
Our vision is to be the leading regional provider of quality services through strengthening relationships between clients, vendors and employees.
What are your core products and services for the hospitality industry?
Through its operations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Dulsco offers hotels and other companies an end-to-end waste management solution for the hospitality industry.

What new products have you launched recently?
Dulsco has continuously been updating its services and products portfolio to help its hospitality clients adhere to regulations and reduce their carbon footprint. Dulsco has also introduced new equipment like bin compactors. This is beneficial for the hotels as it reduces the number of trips required for waste collection, resulting in considerable cost savings.
Organic waste accounts for almost 40% of waste generated by hotels and we have piloted ‘Converta’ at select properties. The Converta processes food waste into a nutrient-rich soil supplement. Up to 90% of a hotel’s food waste can be composted with Converta.
The most significant best practice introduced by Dulsco is ‘Recycle to Regain’. This initiative involves designing end-to-end recycling programmes including waste audits, programme design, providing the right equipment, as well as awareness training for housekeeping staff, environment managers and senior management.
What is your best seller?
Collection and disposal of solid and liquid waste remains our core service and the most popular as well. The service is by nature essential to every home or commercial establishment. Dulsco is a specialist in the collection, transportation and disposal of hazardous waste and non-hazardous solid and liquid waste. Recycling services are gaining importance and emerging as a best seller with many hotels and organisations in the other sectors actively seeking this service.
What other news is there from your company this year?
Recycle to Regain mobilised 23,000 school students across UAE and Qatar and collected 6.8 tonnes of recyclables in just a week. As part of continuous efforts to bring together the hospitality community, Dulsco regularly organises sports tournaments for hotel teams. Recently Dulsco concluded the second edition of the inter-hotel volley ball tournament in which eight hotel teams participated.
What do you offer hotels above and beyond expectation?
We work with the hotels not just as a service provider, but more as a partner. On a regular basis we do waste audit for hotels to ascertain if the current waste management support system is in alignment with their waste generation. This helps us and the hotels be more proactive. We also support the hotels in achieving their ‘green’ targets and thereby earn them green certification.
