Gulf Hotels Group (GHG) has signed an agreement with Almoayyed Contracting for the construction of a new BD 3 million (US $8 million) spa complex at the The Gulf Hotel Bahrain, reports Gulf Daily News.
The agreement was signed by GHG chief executive Aqeel Raees and Almoayyed Contracting's director and chief executive M T Mathews, while the spa will be designed by Portugal-based spa specialist ASPA.
The new two-storey 3,100 square meter spa will have separate floors for males and females and will feature hydro pools, a Hammam, sauna, steam room, experience showers, treatment rooms and relaxation areas on both floors.

Additionally, the ladies floor will include a fully equipped gym, a beauty, hairdressing and nail salon and spa boutique.
The spa will also feature a rooftop terrace with outdoor relaxation areas and healthy refreshment service.
GHG chief executive Aqeel Raees said: "We are confident that the spa will provide the same level of exceptional service that the Gulf Hotel is renowned for and will help the hotel maintain its position as the leading five-star hotel in Bahrain."
Palmer-Grego Associates is to design the interiors of the spa with Bahrain-based MSCEB handling the architecture, as well as mechanical and electrical works.
