Following the appointment of general manager Trevor McCartney for the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre, venue management company AEG Ogden has commenced its recruitment drive for senior management at the new centre.

Director of sales and marketing and sales manager – exhibitions, are the two new positions the company is currently hiring for.

Commenting on the recruitment drive, McCartney called the recruitment of senior executive positions a milestone for the project, which is due for completion in 2016.

Located four kilometres from the Muscat International Airport, the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre will be situated within a purpose built business precinct, and has been designed to accommodate international events, exhibitions, regional meetings, banquets, gala events, performances and concerts.

The centre is being constructed in two stages - stage one, incorporating 22,000m2 of exhibition space will be completed in 2015, followed by stage two, featuring 3,200 and 450 seat tiered theatres, 14 meeting rooms and two ballrooms due for completion in late 2016.

The precinct will also include 1000 hotel rooms.
