UAE-based company Just Falafel launched its 'Would you like to work with me?' recruiting campaign, which will help to double its global workforce of nearly 700 within the next year.
The firm has used social media, like Facebook where it has nearly two million followers, to attract people to the brand, with the campaign garnering over 200,000 views in a couple of days on its website, and resulted in close to 100 people applying every day for jobs.
Just Falafel will then invite all applicants to its office with a YouTube link to hear a presentation by senior management about the company’s core values and direction. Job seekers will then be set a to-do list associated with the brand, which they must complete before they potentially come back for an interview.
Just Falafel CEO Fadi Malas said "that whilst academic achievement, drive and personal achievements are of course important, it’s also key for me to know each potential employee on a more personal level. We are looking for authentic, inspired people in line with our core values that will live and breathe our corporate culture within the restaurants and back at head office".

New hires will be joining a global team including: chief operating officer Mike Biggins, who has held senior positions with brands such as McDonald’s and IHOP (International House of Pancakes); head of investor relations Sarah Cocker who has worked for Banque Paribas, IMD Business School and presented for major broadcasting networks CNBC, CBC, BSKYB and the Business Breakfast for the Arabian Radio Network; and, Jim Joy, veteran executive with Burger King who focused on high quality brand delivery and revenue growth, having led a community of 1,700 franchisees for the chain.
Just Falafel opened its first store in Abu Dhabi in 2007, and now has a strong pipeline of new restaurants that will roll out with increasing momentum.
