The regional F&B industry is off tonight to find out who will be crowned winners at the Caterer Middle East Awards 2014.

The event is being held at The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC, which is returning as the venue of the Awards for the second consecutive year.

Caterer Middle East received nearly 300 nominations for the sixth edition of the Awards, which has introduced a new category this year - Restaurateur of the Year.

Speaking ahead of the awards, Caterer Middle East editor Devina Divecha said: "This award is different from other industry awards as it doesn't focus on what's the current talk of the town, rather it celebrates the people working in the front-of-house and back-of-house operations of a F&B venue, bettering themselves, their colleagues, and the overall business."

"I am looking forward to tonight's event, and wish a hearty congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted," she added.

The ITP Business hospitality group went through a shortlisting process, where the hundreds of nominations were narrowed down to a shortlist of five for each of the 15 categories.

Judges were then given just over a week to analyse the nominations, before a judges' meeting took place at the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management in Dubai.
