Sanitary fittings provider Grohe took home several prizes at the 2014 Red Dot Award: product design.
Apart from picking up awards for its Thermostat Grohtherm 2000, its Grohe Rainshower Flower Collection, and its Eurodisc Joystick line of faucets, Grohe also won the Red Dot: Best of the Best award for its Minta Touch kitchen faucet.
Created in the Grohe Design Studio and incorporating the company’s EasyTouch technology, the Minta Touch is a hybrid faucet that offers two modes of operation.
In addition to conventional lever operation, the flow of water can be triggered by skin contact with any part of the spout.

Grohe senior vice president of design Paul Flowers explained: "When we set out to create Grohe Minta Touch, we started by exploring the boundaries of modern technology in cooperation with our colleagues in R&D. This is why we take pride not only in the faucet's technical and visual features but also in the cooperative spirit, which made it possible in the first place.
“Winning the 'Red Dot: Best of the Best' is clearly the result of a team effort and we appreciate this award as a very special accolade.”
The faucet was up against 4815 entries submitted by 1816 manufacturers, designers, and architects from 53 countries.
