Visa fees are to be raised for visitors, tourists and businessmen entering Bahrain, it has been announced.

The country’s Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) has said the increases will come into effect in October.

They come as part of efforts by the NPRA to improve the services and facilitate the issuance of visas.

All types of visit visas and their extensions will be increased, including visas on arrival and their extensions for two weeks, British and Irish visitor’s visas, one-week GCC resident’s visas and 72-hour visas.

However, the fee increase will not cover labourers and domestic workers.

A new visa structure came into effect in the UAE earlier this month, with a new array of entry permits and visas, such as multiple entry permits for visit or work.
