At least ten people have been killed after gunmen attacked the Corinthia Hotel Tripoli in the Libyan capital on Tuesday (January 27).
The local branch of ISIS has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.
Five foreigners, including one American, one French citizen, and three people from Tajikistan were killed in the attack, CNN has reported. Five Libyans were also killed.
The attack on the hotel began 9am, with a car bomb blast in front of the hotel instantly killing three guards, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Corinthia Hotel Tripoli is one of the most well-known in the city and is popular with foreign diplomats businessmen, and journalists.

The five-star property is located on the shoreline of the Mediterranean Sea and has a total of 299 rooms.
It opened in 2003 and was originally known as the Corinthia Bab Africa Hotel.
