Jumeirah Hospitality, Madinat Jumeirah took the title for Events Catering Team of the Year at the Caterer Middle East Awards.
The award, presented by TSSC business development manager Rashid Bahar, was a celebrated feat. Judges chose the team for it had a pulse on the changing needs of the industry and its clients. The judges were impressed with the team being able to navigate high pressure events while still providing impeccable quality with food and service.
Madinat Jumeirah assistant director of Jumierah Hospitality Xenia Markovic said: "I joined the team a year ago and it was exciting to get nominated. And winning the award feels fantastic."
When asked about the secret to success, she said: “Flexibility. From menu, timing to location, we will come to you — be it two people or 5000.”
The team has catered to ‘many big scale events’, including Jumeirah Golf Estate, World Championship, Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Tour and Dubai World Cup.
Sharing her top three essentials to successfully cater an event, Markovic said: “Quality, team spirit and the willingness to go an extra mille.”
Other nominees in the shortlist included: Doha Marriott Hotel, Hospitality by Dubai World Trade Centre, Lifestyle Events - The Address Dubai Marina, Media One Hotel and #WCATER2U, W Doha.

The Caterer Middle East Awards were held at Atlantis, The Palm on June 10.
