UAE-based company Soil Store won the Sial Middle East Innovation Gold Award 2015.
Its ‘brew in the bag’ Grower’s Cup Coffee Brewer was voted by a panel of judges – including Caterer Middle East’s editorial director Robert Willock – as the most innovative product on show at the food exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
Coffee Brewer pouches contain ground coffee with an integrated filter. Users pour 300ml of water into the pouch, reseal and wait a few minutes before pouring up to two cups of coffee.
Soil Store says Coffee Brewer makes freshly brewed coffee “any place, any time” and renders coffee machines “a thing of the past”. It is available in five varieties – Brazil, Columbia, Costya Rica, kenya and Ethiopia.

The Silver Award went to French company Mosaique Distribution for Woos, a natural fruit mousse in an aerosol can.
Available in strawberry or lemon, the product contains no eggs, dairy products, colours or preservatives.
And Bronze was awarded to Turkish firm Cevher Gida Sanayi Ticaret for its Turkish coffee milkshake, Ice Su.
