New Peruvian lounge bar and restaurant concept to launch in DIFC New Peruvian lounge bar and restaurant concept to launch in DIFC

Dubai is due to welcome the latest addition to the Emirate's burgeoning Peruvian scene in late March, when Totora Cebicheria Peruana is expected to open in DIFC.

Located within the Gate Village, alongside the likes of La Petite Maison, Zuma and Roberto’s, Totora Cebicheria Peruana will be a two floor venue, with a bar and restaurant on the first floor, and a lounge bar on the ground floor.

Through the menu, use of ingredients and design, Totora is aiming to be patented by PromPeru as an authentic peruvian restaurant. This would make it the first Dubai venue to achieve this certification.

Restaurant founders Ali Sidani and Rania Al Khalifa took inspiration from travels and cultural experiences in the Latin American country to create the new restaurant concept.

Examples reflected in the new restaurant’s design include a bridge bringing guests into the venue, which is designed to reflect the rope bridge leading towards Peru’s ancient wonder Machu Picchu.

The name Totora comes from a reed grown at Peru’s Lake Titicaca, where indigenous residents use the dried plant to make a floating sail boat similar to a conoe or surf board.

Alongside Peruvian dishes on the restaurant menu, the bar at Totora Cebicheria Peruana will be displayed with fresh Peruvian fruits, which will be used in purees to create cocktails.

The new 185 seat, 6,000 square foot concept will be open to serve lunch and dinner.
